Our guild chapter, Georges Valley, is having a little challenge to make a nine inch block that reflects a song title. I decided to do “time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce. Had fun with this project and would like to do a few more blocks. Lots of ideas come to mind, but I haven’t made the time yet to do any of them. Probably because I am obsessed with a log cabin I am in the process of making and spending too many hours on, neglecting everything else around the house! At our last Coastal Quilters meeting, one of the members showed a log cabin quilt made with half the logs black and white and the other half multicolored and scrappy. Logs were all different sizes. I loved that quilt and am making one for me! Hopefully will post a picture before too long.
Our local guild chapter is having a musical themed block challenge and the nine inch blocks will be turned in at the May meeting. They will then be assembled into a quilt top and raffled off at our June meeting to some lucky winner. My inspiration song was “Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce. I was looking through my stash trying to come up with ideas when I came across the clock fabric and the block just came together. Looking forward to seeing what the other members come up with. Hopefully will get a picture of the completed top to post at a later date.
