Monthly Archives: June 2015

Went to the Fiber Frolic at the Windsor Fairgrounds in Windsor, Maine earlier this month and met a “felter of gnomes”, Jessica. Loved the gnomes she had created and she was kind enough to give myself and 3 friends a demonstration on how they are made. She also has a book out, The Gnome Project–wonderful read, entertaining and inspiring. Naturally, I had to go home and make a few. They are addicting!   My three gnomes are pictured herehand embroidered finished may 2015. Edward, Emil, and Edgar GnomeToday met with Maine Felters at Aldamere Farm in Rockport Maine. Talented and inspiring group there, too. Lots of ideas, fun, laughter, and camaraderie. This group will be meeting monthly in locations to be announced. But next month on the 3rd Wednesday, 1p to 4 p, the group will meet in Portland at Port Fiber. More info on Facebook. The whale pillow is embroidered and lives in my den with another pieced whale and a tiny stuffed whale.  Living so close to the ocean, I needed some whales nearby!
